At Mawenzi Schools, we believe that education should connect students with their cultural roots while equipping them with practical skills. Our agricultural education program is a unique feature that introduces students to farming and pastoral activities, fostering an appreciation for Tanzania’s rich traditions and sustainable practices.
Through hands-on activities like planting crops and caring for livestock, students learn the value of hard work, responsibility, and environmental stewardship. These lessons go beyond the farm, instilling ethical values and a sense of community that will serve them throughout their lives. Our program also teaches students about modern agricultural techniques, preparing them for potential careers in this vital industry.
Parents appreciate how this program bridges tradition and innovation. By engaging in farming activities, students develop a deeper connection to their heritage while gaining practical skills. As part of our holistic approach, we ensure that every child leaves Mawenzi Schools with a well-rounded education that honors their culture and prepares them for a bright future.
Mawenzi Primary School was established in 2006 at the Tarakea church residence in the city after the church council approved the establishment of a school in its area. Today the school is enrolling kindergarten to grade 7 pupils and has established a child care center in the church area.
